FAQs

1. Is Tiffins food frozen?

No. While the name sounds similar, freeze-dried is not the same as frozen. Unlike frozen meals that require a freezer and constant cold chain management, Tiffins is completely shelf-stable. Through the freeze-drying process, we simply remove all the water content, leaving behind a lightweight, dry product that can be stored in your pantry for a year. No ice, no freezer, and no thawing required!

2. What is freeze-drying, and how does it affect the food?

Freeze-drying is a process that removes 98% of the moisture from the food while it is frozen. Unlike traditional dehydrating or canning, freeze-drying preserves the original texture, nutrition, and—most importantly—the complex flavors of our Indian spices. When you add water, the meal "wakes up" and tastes exactly as it did when it was freshly cooked.

3. Where are Tiffins meals made?

Every Tiffins item is cooked and packaged in India. We use time-honored regional recipes and local ingredients to ensure that the flavors are 100% authentic to their origins.

4. Are your production facilities certified?

Yes. Quality and safety are our top priorities. All Tiffins meals are produced in an FDA-registered facility in India that adheres to strict international food safety standards. This ensures that every meal you enjoy meets the high quality and safety expectations required for the US market.
